One of the great rewards for being Chairman and CEO of RCOA is feedback from a successful PET/CT
scan from the patient or physician when the results of a scan provided by RCOA leads to successful
and sometimes life saving treatment. But a tremendous amount of skill and effort involving many
people must occur before the PET/CT scan results can guide the physician to the most efficacious treatment.
Sometimes the PET/CT scan result enables the physician to select the best therapy and on other
occasions the scan guides the physician to alter previously selected therapy. In any event it’s
the drivers who bring the mobile scanner to the testing site the night before, the schedulers who
receive the physician’s scan order and communicate with the patient about the scan preparation,
the nuclear technologists who injects the patient and places the patient into the bed that moves
into the scanner and the physician who interprets the scan that comprise the team of professionals
that ultimately provide me with the reward of positive feedback. Clearly there are many other
rewards that I treasure in my responsibility as Chairman and CEO but the greatest is to know that
RCOA has truly helped a patient and his or her physician.
